Castile soap first appeared in the Castile region of Spain and was thought to have been created in what is now modern day Spain/Italy. A soap that is made up of mostly olive oil would have been a natural fit for an area where olives are grown so profusely. Castile soap is very gentle on the skin making it ideal for people with sensitive skin, allergies or that suffer from eczema or psoriasis. It is perfect for babies. Because this soap is made up of olive oil it is considered an all-natural soap for those looking for all-natural products.
